Following five months of preparation, the 4th FabLab Asia Network Conference (FAN4) in Ho Chi Minh City finally took place on May 2-5th 2018. This is the result of a close collaboration between FabLab Saigon, The BIM Factory, Meye Creative and support from IPP Program, and Saigon Innovation Hub. This year, the annual gathering of FabLab Asia Network attracted 150 participants from 10 countries, and 23 Asian FabLabs all the way to Jordan.
As a creative consulting partner of the conference, Meye Creative took great pride that the theme “Co-create a better world” and conference programme which we curated were very well received by local and international participants alike. It was our aim and our joy to foster co-creation among participants on local projects aligned with sustainable development goals by engaging project partners such as Precious Plastics Saigon, Cua hang 3T, and EVG for their plastic recycling, natured-based solutions to plastic straws and pedal-powered water filtering system respectively. We also made an effort to showcase Vietnamese culture through traditional music and martial arts (Vovinam) performances, and needless to say, food. As the conference came to an end, our heart is full of gratitude to all participants and sponsors, guest speakers, our team members, volunteers and others who lent us support in various ways. Last but not least, we thank FabLab Saigon for the opportunity to contribute to this great conference, and to promote knowledge and culture exchange between Vietnam and other countries. We are pleased to share with you a video recap of FAN4.
