Bringing Fablab Asia Network Conference to Vietnam, with FabLab Saigon

On the first day of every year, we hope we will always have something exciting to announce to the community. This year, it's about bringing the 4th Fablab Asia Network Conference to Vietnam for the first time.

Fablab Asia Network (FAN) Conference is the annual gathering of Asian FabLabs, organized in a different location each year. For the 2018 edition, FabLab Saigon has successfully secured the votes to host the conference in Ho Chi Minh City in May 2018. Meye Creative is honoured to be the creative consulting partner for the conference, curating a programme focusing on sustainable development goals and co-creation. We expect to welcome 100+ participants from all over Asia to explore the maker and FabLabs ecosystem in Vietnam, and to experience our local culture.

The conference theme is “Co-create a better world”. We have selected this theme to emphasize a refreshing conference experience whereby international participants are given opportunities, by design, to co-create solutions with local makers and organizations that seek to make an impact. To do so, the organizer will enable international and local participants to team up and work together, over a period of 3 days. Teams will brainstorm and prototype hands-on solutions that address a challenge in the local context or improve upon an existing solution. A pop-up fablab will be set up to serve this purpose.
